LENT

In Lent we hear the story of Jesus going into the desert. We remember how hard it can be to follow God. Jesus’ job was to get people to understand and love God more. But first he had to decide the best way to get people to listen. He could have given people everything they asked for. But God doesn’t want to buy people’s love. Jesus could have become a king or led an army and made people listen. But you can’t be forced to love God. And Jesus could have done amazing and daring things to show he was special. But Jesus didn’t want to do this. He wanted people to understand that everyone is important to God. Jesus realised that it was no good talking about God’s love. He had to show it to people in the way he treated them. That was much more difficult and dangerous. But it was the way that worked.
