LENT

Lent is the 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday. In Lent the church goes back to using purple. The church uses purple in Advent too. Lent and Advent are a chance to get ready for a celebration and to think about why we celebrate. In Advent we were like John the Baptist, getting ready for Jesus’ arrival at Christmas. In Lent we go into the desert with Jesus. Then we walk beside him on the road that leads to the events of Holy Week and Easter.
